Montana Sen. Max Baucus is beginning to make Tiger Woods look good. He seems to be surrounding himself with scandal, from giving his love partner a pay raise, to allegedly appearing on the Senate floor drunk during the health care debate.
It was reported earlier this month by CNN that the Senator "gave an employee with whom he later became romantically involved a raise of nearly $14,000 and recommended her for a U.S. attorney position ...
"Baucus, who chairs the Senate Finance Committee, says the pair began a romantic relationship in the summer of 2008. Both had separated from their spouses at that point. Matsdorf confirmed that Hanes met with Baucus's divorce attorney in the summer of 2007, saying those meetings also took place in her official capacity." Baucus spokesman confirms Hanes pay raise
But let's take a closer look at this separation. Was it master-minded by girlfriend Hanes? Fox News reported that Wendy Baucus believed that Anita Hill "had suffered at the hands of senators acting like 'a bunch of thugs.'

The two moved in together about eight months later.)
Now take a look at this video and you be the judge. It appears he is slurring his words and rather drunk. We are angry with Tiger Woods because he should be a role model, a good husband and father. And then we have yet another Senator falling into a scandal trap. This was not a good year for those who serve us in Washington given what we learned about Mark Sanford and John Edwards.

OMy! That is slurring if I've ever heard it. Yikes! Maybe it's just really late and he's been up for several days...
I originally thought that Baucus was a weakling! Is he drunk or is he a diabetic whose blood sugar was low at this time - diabetics will sometimes appear to look like they are drunk and need to carry something like an orange or a candy bar with them to restore thier blood sugar level and keep from going into a diabetic coma.
It appears to me that the video tape has been altered, or at minimum, poorly recorded.
(Perlaps he just disracted) Seriously. You have to feel sorry for some of these guys. They are otherwise, in so many ways, brilliant and talented. When they lose their way; we lose too.
This man was not sober during the debate.
