Earlier this fine evening of 21st Nov 2009, Senate majority leader, Harry Reid had scheduled a cloture vote for the Health Care reform bill. All the Republicans in the senate were united against this bill, and had said they will vote "NO", since
a) Government run public option was a part of the bill, and
b) "Death Panels" were a part of the bill.
c) Arguably "unconstitutional" jail time for people exercising their constitutional liberty/ freedom and refusing to buy insurance if they didn't need one, was a part of the bill.

A lot of people thought that an approximate 100 million dollars bribe deal was used to buy the critical vote of Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu (D) to pass the Healthcare Cloture vote today. Page 432 of the healtcare bill confirmed this, where one could clearly see the evidence regarding this, in the form of special medicaid subsidies, given only and only to state of Lousiana, and not to any other state.
Shockingly, Washington post just reported the following:
And so it came to pass that Landrieu walked onto the Senate floor midafternoon Saturday to announce her aye vote -- and to trumpet the financial "fix" she had arranged for Louisiana. "I am not going to be defensive," she declared. "And it's not a $100 million fix. It's a $300 million fix.
300 million dollars of tax payer money, not just 100 million, looks like was used as bribe to buy the vote of Louisiana Senator Mary Landriue (D) to pass the Healthcare Reform bill cloture today, as per the above.
That is quite a bribe, equalling 20 times the original purchase price of Louisiana, just to pass today's cloture vote!
This is change we can believe in!
