The holidays continue with the Three Kings Day/Epiphany/ Twelfth Night celebration in nearby Humboldt Park.

Look for twelve drummers drumming in the Three Kings Day parade starting at the corner of Division St. and Campbell Ave. (just west of Western Ave.) on Tuesday, January 6, at 4:00 p.m. 

There are, after all, twelve days of Christmas!

First things first

Beginning at 3:00 p.m. and prior to the parade start, be sure to register the kids (12 and under) to receive a gift from the three kings. 

The three kings, Melchor (gold), Gaspar (frankincense) and Balthazar (myrrh), along with community leaders, will then lead the parade to the Humboldt Park Field House.

Holiday spirit

Whether or not you plan to attend the parade and celebration, you can continue the holiday spirit of giving by donating unwrapped toys for chilren up to 12 years old for the event at the Division Street Business Development Association, 2459 W. Division Street, up until January 5.

You can also donate your time helping to gift wrap the toys for the children.

Make it last

Pick up a Rosca de Reyes at Pierre's Bakery on Milwaukee Avenue.  Mexican tradition holds that whoever finds the baby Jesus doll inside the cake must take it to mass and host another feast on February 2, Día de la Candelaria, thus extending the holidays to Groundhog Day!
