According to a recent article from CNN.com, Michael Jackson's father Joe Jackson and Gary, Indiana mayor, Rudy Clay, have plans to build a museum, hotel and a performing arts center in the Jackson's' hometown of Gary, Indiana.
Joe Jackson and the mayor are in Las Vegas this week to meet with some possible partners and investors and to shop the idea of The Jackson Family Project, according to spokeswoman Lalosa Burns.
According to Burns, "Everything is in the proposal and concept stage." The proposal is to build a hotel around a Jackson family museum along with a performing arts center in Michael Jackson's name.
Part of the plans for the project call for a possible replica of the Jackson home at 2300 Jackson St. where the family moved from in 1971.
"We do hope to have, even if not the house, a replica of the house," Burns said.
According to the CNN article, a statement from the Brenden Theatre Corp, says that a news conference was to be held at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas on Wednesday where the proposal will be outlined.
Joe Jackson has a home in Las Vegas and there have always been plans in the works to build a complex of some kind in the Las Vegas valley, however, nothing has ever materialized. With these latest talks at the Palms, perhaps the time is coming.

i hope that they make a mueseum for michae jackson.
It would be a beautiful thing to see a museum in honor of Michael
Jackson. I hope Mr. Joe Jackson fights this to the end and win. MJ is a legend, all he wanted was world love and peace and if their is a museum built to remind us of his dreams, I would visit
it. I think Mr. Joe Jackson is doing a good job with everything he is trying to accomplish. I commend him for the way he raised his children, it takes a strong man to walk in his shoes, he raised his children to stardom, never left his wife or children, and made his dream a reality. To stay with his family growing up is a good man, regardless of what the media says about him. Not too many men stay with their families, so I LOVE MR. JOE JACKSON for the REAL MAN that He is.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU MR. JACKSON!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE YOU AND YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY, LOVEY.
The people that does not like Mr. Jackson probably did'nt or don't even have a father who raised them. How can a person dislike someone and not even know them, it is easier to love as GOD and JESUS LOVES US. You are a good example of a father Joe.
I hope you succeed Mr. Jackson, stay in prayer and fight for what you want as you have always done, you are a fighter and seem to succeed every time. Michael's spirit is with you!
Blessings to you.
People are so quick to judge Joe Jackson. I do believe that his marketing can be overbearing and tacky, however, I'm convinced that he loved his son beyond a financial gain. I have to give him credit for continuing his son's legacy. Michael would have definitely wanted a museum in his honor, which is why he inititated the process "himself" when he went to visit Gary, Indiana. People are missing this very important fact, this is indeed what "Michael Jackson" wanted not "Joe Jackson". I hope this museum becomes a dynamic success, what better way than to celebrate Michael's legacy than with this great tribute in his hometown. It's truly a homecoming. This museum would indeed generate multi-millions yearly. The earning potential would be incredicable and the "Jackson Estate" aka his executors would be "idots" if they didn't agree with the museum plans, if fact they should play an intricate part by ensuring the museums lives up to the expectations of fans. The museum could be feature all of
Michael Jackson fans must see the superb solid silver statue of him by sculptor Billa Dhand at www.billadhand.com. Truly a fitting tribute and a masterpiece.
