Bigwheel Electrosoul, an active Denver band combining soul and electronica, has been invited to participate in the first ever Japan Music Week, an international music festival taking place in Tokyo November 9 through 15. To represent Denver and Colorado for the event, they need to raise their own funds, and they are asking you, the public, for your help.
Here are the ways you can help them raise money this week:
- Attend a special fundraiser show this Friday, November 6, at the City Hall Event Center, 1144 South Broadway in Denver, starting at 9:00 PM. (Doors open at 8.) Bigwheel Electrosoul will be performing a special DeathRow Records tribute that night, with actors on stilts, video presentations, and more. The cover charge is $5.00.
- Purchase the band's special mixtape of their "Compost project", available for sale at the show.
- Hire the band for a special party. Now through November 7, the band is auctioning off three shows, a Holiday party, Spring party and Summer party, with starting bids at $500. Two of the auctions can be found on Ebay, here and here.
Bigwheel Electrosoul is also looking for business and corporate sponsors that might gain from having advertising placement. For more information about sponsorship or the event, leave a message for the band at (205) 9-CHECK1.
If the band is unable to raise the needed amount, they will donate what funds are raised to a local community charity.
When they are not off in Japan playing festivals, you can catch Bigwheel Electrosoul on Tuesday nights at the Appaloosa Grill on the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver. According to Appaloosa's website, they are scheduled to play tonight, November 3, starting at 8:00 PM.
