Some readers may recall that in January, John Common and Blinding Flashes of Light held an elaborate CD release party at Casselman's to publicize the release of their latest effort, Beautiful Empty. Before the event, Denver singer/songwriter John Common invited filmmakers and artists to submit short films and box art inspired by the music, a selection of which were shown/displayed during the CD release party. The entire evening was a combination concert-and-film-festival, a celebration of the arts in general.
Well, John Common & BFoL are doing it again--this time in Boulder, and this time with photography.
Common has announced the "Beautiful Empty Photo Conspiracy", where photographers are invited to submit photographs inspired by Beautiful Empty. All entries will be displayed online; a selection of photographs will be displayed at the Boulder CD release show, to be held at Fox Theatre on June 12. (The show itself looks like a great lineup, with Churchill and Ian Cooke tapped as opening acts.)
To get the details for submitting photographs, see the call for photographers on the Photo Conspiracy blog. Submission deadline is May 15.
UPDATE: JC and BFoL have announced that they are extending the submission deadline for photography entries to May 22.
