Heads up! Here’s a save the date for you: Green Festival is coming to San Francisco in November thanks to the joint efforts of Global Exchange and Green America. The goal is to celebrate and inform those who are living sustainably in San Francisco through an event-packed three days during Green Week 2009. You can find out what’s working, what’s not and what’s in the works for a greener future.
Events and Activities at the San Francisco Green Festival
It’s still early for details as yet, but so far, the San Francisco Green Festival will include interviews, speeches and question and answer sessions with more than 125 authors, green living and sustainability leaders and educators. More than 350 eco-friendly businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area or accessible to San Franciscans will be showcased and/ or represented. There will also be activities for kids that educate about green concepts in a fun way, live music, green living-focused films and workshops, and when it’s time for a break, you’ll have your choice of organic and vegetarian cuisine.
San Francisco Green Festival Dates, Times and Locations: Save the Date!
The Green Festival will be coming to San Francisco on November 13th through 15th, Friday through Sunday. On Friday, the Green Festival will be open between noon and 7pm. Saturday, the doors open at 10am and close at 7pm and on Sunday the hours are between 11am and 6pm.
All of the workshops, speeches and activities will be held in San Francisco at San Francisco Concourse Exhibition Center on 635 8th St at Brannan St or Giftcenter Pavillion Theater at 888 Brannan Street.
San Francisco Green Festival Tickets and Passes
At this time, online registration is unavailable. It’s unknown as to whether or not they will be open to online registration at some point before the festival begins, so right now it is advised that you purchase your passes at the door.
The following tickets and passes get you into the San Francisco Green Festival for one or both days:
- Kids 18 and under, Green America and Global Exchange members, and volunteers (volunteer registration opens in August) all get in free.
- Students with ID, seniors over the age of 62, bike riders with a Green Festival Bike Valet ticket, and bus riders with a bus transfer or bus pass get in for $10.
- For the $15 ticket price, you get admission to everything for one or both days as well as a one-year membership to Green America, a 10% discount at the Green Festival store and Global Exchange booth, two months of The Nation and a one-year subscription to Ode.
- If you want a chance to donate to the cause, you can become a Friend of Green Festival with a $75 pass that gets you everything that the $15 ticket provides as well as two free drinks at Organic Beer & Wine Garden, a 20% discount at the Green Festival Store and the BetterWorldBooks Book Store, an exclusive tour of the Greening Operation at Green Festival, autographed copies of The Green Festival Reader and Building the Green Economy and a visit with Alisa Gravitz of Green America and Kevin Danaher of Global Exchange, as well as Executive Producer Updates about the Green Festivals from Global Exchange and Green America for the next year.
Don’t Wait for the San Francisco Green Festival to Go Green
