The Feng Shui Ninjas' website tell us that they are "rearranging the furniture between your ears." They do this well. The Feng Shui Ninjas often take a standard and transform it into something unique that is difficult to discern an original from a cover.
The holiday season only brings more joy to the band as they embark on their 2nd annual No Mercy Christmas Tour. Favorite yuletide carols are not sacred, though the Feng Shui Ninjas say that they tend to stick with traditional melodies that have "a body count."
The group kicked off their No Mercy Christmas Tour with a show at the St Paul Eagles Club last Friday. This Thursday, December 17, 2009, the band heads over to the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis and on January 2, 2010 at Coffee Grounds in Falcon Heights. There will be surreal originals about romance, journeys, and other more creative topics. But, it is also a Christmas tour. The band has rearranged half a dozen Christmas songs just for you. Listen for the crowd pleasin' "Greensleeves," then hear how "Santa Baby" has finally received the update it might have needed. What was that ring you wanted? This time, they do mean a phone- an iPhone!
The Feng Shui Ninjas perform at the Varsity Theater, 1308 4th Street SE, Minneapolis, around 9 pm on Thursday. Tickets are $9 in advance and $10 at the door.
