David has kept a keen eye on the arts since he was a child. He recalls panning his own 2nd Grade Christmas program. "It was all pageant, no soul," he told his misty-eyed parents at the time. "That wouldn't have flown if I had been in charge." Since that time David has written about music for publications including The Source, Wax Poetics, SF Weekly, and Crawdaddy!, where he worked as an assistant editor for most of 2008. He received his MA in Specialized Journalism (The Arts) from the University of Southern California in May 2009. Now back in the East Bay, David keeps his ears tuned for the best live music and will travel from concert halls to garages to hear it.
