Singer Thom Yorke of Radiohead is bringing his Atoms for Peace side project to Chicago as part of a national mini-tour in April.
Atoms of Peace will play two concerts at the Aragon Ballroom on April 10 and 11. Tickets go on sale on March 3 (exact time TBA) via a presale on the band's website and on March 6 via Ticketmaster.
Here's the important thing to note for anyone interested in buying tickets: According to Yorke's website, all tickets purchased via the presale will be will-call only. No tickets will be mailed in advance.
Yorke's policy means that the person who buys the tickets via the presale will have to show up in person on the night of the show with a photo ID to get the tickets. What a novel concept!
Ticket resale brokers have been running wild in Chicago for a long time now, buying up all the best tickets for shows and reselling them at well above face value. The problem is so bad that even when fans attempt to buy tickets the very minute they go on sale, they are often unable to do so, as was the case for Lady Gaga's recent shows in Chicago.
It appears this policy only applies to the presale through Yorke's website, and not to tickets purchased though Ticketmaster.
Atoms for Peace will include Yorke, Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Joey Waronker, Maura Refosco and producer Nigel Godrich.
Here's the full list of Atoms for Peace tour dates:
April 5-6 Roseland Ballroom, New York NY
April 8 Citi Wang Theatre, Boston MA
April 10-11 Aragon Ballroom, Chicago IL
April 14-15 Fox Theatre, Oakland CA

I love Radiohead..I think Thome York is doing exactly what ALL concerts should do, you have to bring your ID to the show to prove you bought the tickets. Could cut down on all the big time scalpers jacking up the prices!
Indio, CA. Not India
Love Thom Yorke! Wish I could go.
