Woman Warrior writer Maxine Hong Kingston
National Book Award-winning author Maxine Hong Kingston will be the keynote speaker of the 2009 Writers Conference at Montgomery County Community College (MC3) this fall. Kingston's well-known works include The Woman Warrior: Memoirs of a Girlhood Among Ghosts; Tripmaster Monkey: His Fake Book; China Men; and The Fifth Book of Peace. She is a recipient of a National Humanities Medal, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and a Medal of Distinguished Contribution to American Letters.
Kingston will speak Friday night, November 6, 2009, on the college campus in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Her talk is the opening event of a two-day writers conference held every year at Montgomery County Community College.
