According to WrestleZone on Feb. 1, the WWE have announced the first five men who will wrestle in the Smackdown brand Elimination Chamber match at the WWE's February pay per view.
In normal years, the WWE has held two Elimination Chamber matches at the pay per view, one with the WWE championship on the line and the second with the world championship on the line. In 2012, the winners of the two Elimination Chamber matches were the defending champions, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan.
At this year's event, the WWE chose not to have the WWE championship on the line in an Elimination Chamber match, possibly to protect The Rock. The new WWE champion has never wrestled in the giant steel structure before and there is a chance the WWE didn't want to risk injury, or make their returning superstar look bad.
There is also a chance that the fact The Rock won't be defending his title in the Elimination Chamber made the WWE choose not to have the world championship defended in there either, possibly so it won't make The Rock look bad for not taking on the chance.
The Rock will defend his WWE championship against CM Punk while it looks like Alberto Del Rio will defend his world championship against The Big Show again.
Instead, the Elimination Chamber match will determine the number one contender to the world championship belt. Here are the five names listed for the Elimination Chamber match so far.
