The Dead Man is back and ready to keep the greatest streak in wrestling alive. Standing in his way, a diabolical CM Punk. This one is going to be good. Really good. Cody Rhodes is part of the Rhodes Scholars with Damien Sandow but he looks to be carrying the team as of late. The mustached-one is finding his stride in the WWE fight now. Sin Cara had a non title match victory over Antonio Cesaro a week ago and looked really solid against Jack Swagger this week. He’s got a ton of talent and the best kicks in pro wrestling. It’s a difficult task to rank the top 20 wrestlers in the WWE. That being said, it’s a task I take seriously. There are a lot of wrestlers who are vying for spots and not all of them can make it obviously.

I now present the inaugural Top 20 WWE Power Rankings.

  • Sin Cara had a non title match victory over Antonio Cesaro a week ago and looked really solid against Jack Swagger this week. He’s got a ton of talent and the best kicks in pro wrestling.
  • Cody Rhodes is part of the Rhodes Scholars with Damien Sandow but he looks to be carrying the team as of late. The mustached-one is finding his stride in the WWE fight now.
  • The Dead Man is back and ready to keep the greatest streak in wrestling alive. Standing in his way, a diabolical CM Punk. This one is going to be good. Really good.
  • He’s the Miz, and he’s awesome. His in ring this past Monday with Jericho and Barrett sure wasn’t though. Hopefully he gets involved in an Intercontinental Title match at Wrestlemania, because he’s a talented star.
  • He’s big, he’s strong, and he’s bad. We get it, but we need more if we’re going to get invested in the character. This is the third time he’s had a run with this strong silent gimmick. Not sure why we’re expected to buy it this time.
  • Barrett is the Intercontinental Champion, so it’s a bit puzzling that he’d rank so far down on the list, but the truth is, he doesn’t have any current momentum. He’s just there, and he’s going to have to have a stellar Wrestlemania buildup to climb this list.
  • He’s gone from world title matches, to run ins with The Shield to singles squash matches, where he was two months ago. He will likely be involved with Mark Henry for a bit, but I’m not sure that is going to be good for either wrestler. Ryback seems to be in a holding pattern.
  • Ziggler had been getting beat quite a bit, but his win over Daniel Bryan in an instant classic was very refreshing. I think he’s saddled with AJ and more to the point, Big E, and would do better without (them) him. He should have a solid WM buildup and if he ever cashes in, will move up this list quickly.
  • His new angle is pretty much the most interesting aspect of RAW, unfortunately for Swagger, Jeb Colter is the reason. His recent non alcohol DUI isn’t good for growth, but his match with Alberto Del Rio seems to be unharmed by his poor decision.
  • He’s a great wrestler who more or less is constantly in non-title bouts. He is in a bit of limbo, as he’s currently being used to showcase other stars. It speaks volumes of his in ring ability though. He needs his own program.
  • Yes, the Big Show has the knockout punch, but still walks around most days like Eeyore. “Poor me….nobody respects me.” He’s in a major rut, and he needs to somehow reinvent himself. Major talent, just dying on the vine.
  • Needs to be freed from his ongoing comedy role with Daniel Bryan to excel. Was great to see him have a physical match this week with Punk. I think Kane has a lot left in the tank, he just needs a tag split and a hot angle.
  • The Apex Predator is stuck in an angle with The Shield and Sheamus and he desperately needs a heel turn. He’s over right now, but does his best work as a heel, and the company is short on heels now. Would love to see him work with Cena post WM in a heel role.
  • One of the best pure wrestlers on the roster, he like Kane is tied to a gimmick that has run its course. Turn him loose and let him do his thing in the singles rank. A series of matches with him and Antonio Cesaro could carry the WWE. He’s that good.
  • He’s a monster, an absolute monster who is under the control of Paul Heyman. When his music hits, the crowd literately buzzes. He’s not an everyday wrestler, so he splits this with The Shield. His upcoming match with HHH will be violent, and could steal the show. He has instant big fight aura.
  • These guys are good, and have graduated from the post-match attack angles. They would make an excellent tag team, and also could perform as solo stars. One thing is certain, with Paul Heyman, CM Punk and Brock Lesnar they are scary.
  • He’s like Cena in some ways, just shows up and always puts forth an incredible effort. He will always be around the main event, and if he ever develops top notch mic skills, the skies the limit. He’s a blue chipper.
  • He’s only working a part time schedule, and he’ll likely be gone after Wrestlemania but he’s the WWE champion, so he deserves a high rankings. I won’t rank him ahead of the big three, since they work full schedules are the WWE is built around their talents.
  • The World Champion and owner of the sweetest finisher in the WWE with that incredible armbar he sets up from anywhere, Del Rio is on fire in the WWE right now. Will have a big time Wrestlemania match with Jack Swagger, and he has to win it. He’s one of the biggest stars in the sport, and will be for the foreseeable future.
  • What can you say about John Cena? He’s been the cornerstone of the WWE for going on a decade and simply shows up, works hard and produces great work. Will highlight his second consecutive Wrestlemania with The Rock this year. He’s once again in a must win position.
  • Nobody has meant more to the WWE in the past year than CM Punk. Nobody. He’s put the company on his back and carried it at times, more often than not he’s the most interesting aspect of WWE television. A superstar who is finally truly getting his credit, he will have a monster 2013 as well. Gets the business and is the future of the WWE.
