We’ve all made excuses for not being able to get to the gym. The industry has taken note. These days, virtual workouts, like us, come in all different shapes and sizes.
From DVDs to virtual trainers and everything in between, there apparently is "an app for that" or at least a streaming content website. Caroline Limpert, co-founder of Fitist, notes that the exercise video market alone has grown 70% in the last six years. In addition, virtual and online fitness content has become increasingly popular to address the needs of people who want the freedom of working out in their own homes, at their own pace, in their own time. It seems like technology is giving us one (or two) less excuses.

However, It remains to be seen if these concepts overcome the challenge to replicate our workout experience from the gym to online. Prefer going to an actual gym? There's an app for that too . . .
