Who's who among non-roster pitcher invitees to Indians' Spring Training camp

Who's He?: Guilmet is a 25-year old RHP first drafted by the Indians in the 9th round of the 2009 draft. His most recent action has been with the Boston Red Sox, pitching in 25 games.He's been used primarily as a lefty-specialist, having pitched just 19 2/3 innings in those 25 games in 2012.

He signed a minor league contract with the Indians this past offseason.Kazmir is a LHP starting pitcher, most recently with the Los Angeles Angels. His last full season came in 2010, when he went 9-15 for the Angels with a 5.94 ERA in 150 IP. He surrendered 99 earned runs and offered 79 walks in that year. He's since pitched in the Angels' minor league system, Dominican League winter ball, Independent ball in Houston, Texas and the Puerto Rican league.

He's worked his way to the AAA Columbus Clippers, appearing in 32 games as a reliever there in 2012.In 2012, splitting time between the AA Akron Aeros and the Clippers, he pitched in 42 games, posting a 2.74 ERA in 69 innings pitched. He struck out 81 batters and walked just 27.

Most of this came in 2009 and 2010.He spent most of 2012 with the Diamondbacks' AAA Reno Aces, starting 27 games and going 10-11 with a 5.39 ERA. He surrendered 93 earned runs in 155 1/3 innings, striking 99 and walking 49.

It's been a mixed bag for Matsuzaka in the U.S. He posted an 18-win season in 2008 with a 2.90 ERA, finishing fourth in the AL Cy Young vote.A year later, however, he started just 12 games, sporting a 5.76 ERA and surrendering 38 earned runs in just 59 1/3 innings.In his career, he has a 4.52 ERA, a 1.418 WHIP due to a lack of control most years in Boston, and a 50-37 record.

He last pitched professionally for the AAA Tacoma Rainiers in 2011.  He was signed to a minor league contract last month.  
  • Who's He?: Not to be confused with the Texas Rangers catcher Geovany Soto, the 21-year old Indians pitcher out of Puerto Rico has been in the Tribe organization since 2010. He was traded to Cleveland in the trade that sent Jhonny Peralta to Detroit.Last season for the AA Akron Aeros, Soto pitched a no-hitter against the Altoona Curve. Per mlb.com, Soto is expected to pitch for the Puerto Rican team in the World Baseball Classic this coming month.
