Out there in Chicago are pi (π) holes and pie holes. To make art with a Chicago theme, either the foreground or background must save something or someone related to the Windy City, and of course, you must have pi and/or pie. If your art works are not really Pi Chicago Art, like The Three Stooges, you may get a cream pie in your face.
Pies are rarely pi (3.14159265) because the crusts bulge over the edges. Pie plates are closer to pi than pies. Cherry pies and blueberry pies are likely to be more pi-like than banana or apple pies because cherries and blueberries are round.
Prehistoric Man certain marveled at full moons on cloudless nights; this was his first appreciation for pi even though he did not know it then. (It is unlikely that there were any cave men expert with geometry.) In all likelihood, prehistoric Man needed to invent the wheel before he understood or was on the proper track to understanding pi.
Many common items like tires, manhole covers and coins have pi characteristics. You will certainly see these items in Chicago. However, if you see a perfectly round, three-dimensional black hole (the astronomical variety) in Chicago, although you are likely to win the Nobel Prize for art, kiss goodbye to your physical, pie holes.
In the following list are pi holes and pie holes. The slides represent digital, two-dimensional photographs. (Not all holes are round.)
