Asking has the meaning “put a question to”. Teachers get questions all the time to clarify assignments and also to add to the learning process. Questions help gain the needed information to make a good decision or right choice. Questions are asked to get a desired action or outcome from another person. One cannot receive an answer if he or she does not ask the question.
Jesus was teaching His followers that they should ask. Questions can be posed to the Father in heaven. Believers can use Jesus name to ask the question. Jesus said that the believer would receive an answer to the request. Jesus would follow up the question by doing it. The action and/or outcome to Jesus as God’s Son and is an example of the power of God. Believers can look to the Holy Spirit to counsel them on asking the right questions and hearing the answer to them.
Challenge: Believer, ask the Father in Jesus name and He will do it! God is glorified in His Son!
Believers can begin prayer by praising and thanking God for His answers. Also, confession of sin and asking for forgiveness is a part of prayer. Jesus taught, "7 “Ask and it will be given to you;"(Matthew 7:7) He also said, "8 For everyone who asks receives;"(Matthew 7:8)
Seek God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. He promises to be found by you. Jesus taught, "seek and you will find;......the one who seeks finds;"(Matthew 7:7-8) God is asking you to seek Him.
Knock on the Door!
Asking, seeking, and knocking will bring forth an answer. Keep on knocking until God answers your request. Ask in Jesus name and praise Him for the desired result. Jesus taught, "Knock and the door will be opened to you." and "And to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."(Matthew 7:7-8)
