13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 14:13-14)[1]

Asking has the meaning “put a question to”.[2] Teachers get questions all the time to clarify assignments and also to add to the learning process. Questions help gain the needed information to make a good decision or right choice. Questions are asked to get a desired action or outcome from another person. One cannot receive an answer if he or she does not ask the question.

Jesus was teaching His followers that they should ask. Questions can be posed to the Father in heaven. Believers can use Jesus name to ask the question. Jesus said that the believer would receive an answer to the request. Jesus would follow up the question by doing it. The action and/or outcome to Jesus as God’s Son and is an example of the power of God. Believers can look to the Holy Spirit to counsel them on asking the right questions and hearing the answer to them.

Challenge: Believer, ask the Father in Jesus name and He will do it! God is glorified in His Son!
