Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival
Blooming fun for everyone – the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival runs through May 18, 2014. There are dazzling gardens, topiary displays throughout the park, outdoor kitchens, HGTV celebrities, Flower Power concerts, and much more.
Universal Studios Mardi Gras
Join in the weekend festivities at Universal Studios Orlando and celebrate Mardi Gras through June 7, 2014. Costumed Mardi Gras characters roam the park and pose for pictures. The colorful nighttime parade is a must, and you can catch beads by the handful as they are tossed from the lighted, amazing floats. And there are free concerts of top name stars, too, included with your admission on certain Saturday nights. Don’t miss Universal’s Mardi Gras.
Viva la Musica at SeaWorld
Celebrate the Hispanic culture with food, fun and Latin artists concerts at SeaWorld Orlando. Saturdays through May 18, 2014, this annual festival also features some great Latin cuisine prepared by SeaWorld Orlando’s own Executive Chef, Héctor Colón. Concerts begin at 3:00 p.m. and are free with admission to SeaWorld.
Star Wars Weekends
Disney’s Hollywood Studios celebrates the power of the Force with a galactic event filled with Star Wars celebrities and characters. Star Wars Weekends are from May 16 thru June 15, 2014. There will be motorcades, parades, special fireworks shows, limited edition merchandise, character/guest interactions and character dining, the Jedi Training Academy, and much more.
The tallest, steepest and only multi-drop tower slide in the United States will open on May 9, 2014 at SeaWorld’s water park, Aquatica. Ihu’s Breakaway Falls is nearly 80 feet tall and will send riders dropping at 20-24 feet per second. Riders will step into one of three clear “breakaway boxes”, then, not knowing who will breakaway first, will fall one-by-one as the floor beneath them disappears.
Legoland Florida Water Park
Only 45 minutes from Orlando, Legoland Florida is a theme park geared toward the little ones having lots of fun. The largest Legoland Park in the world, it has more than 50 rides, shows, and attractions, a botanical garden and the new Legoland Water Park (opens April 17, 2014). Unlike other theme parks, Legoland is not open every day (closed some Tuesday and Wednesdays), so check before you make the trip. It’s a fun, relaxing day for everyone in the family.
