Weekends at the Wineries: everything from singles night to chocolate pairings

Chaddsford Winery hosts the wine and chocolate sampling Feb. 23 and 24 from noon to 6 p.m. Chocolates are $14 and wine sampling $10. Enjoy a self-guided wine and chocolate sampling or pair your chocolates with a glass of wine. Sweet wine sampling is complimentary. Pair six of Paradocx wine with Neuchâtel chocolate and truffles. Looking for a little change this weekend out of the cold? The Philadelphia wineries offer daily classes, entertainment and tastings for folks looking to a weekend of fun. Best of all, most are inside so the only chill you'll be feeling is the one that a great sip of wine can inspire.

  • Penns Woods Winery hosts its wine and chocolate pairings all day Feb. 21 to 24. It's $20 per person. Pair John and Kira’s homemade chocolates with wines from Penns Woods Winery, including their reserved wines and limited edition Lacrima Dolce. Reservations required.
  • Crossing Vineyards and Winery presents “Wine and Spirits” tarot card reading and wine tasting Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. Enjoy a wine tasting, dessert and individual tarot card readings with friends. This is a new monthly event that costs $35. Reservations are required due to space limitations.Then on Feb. 22, the winery hosts Wine Tasting for Singles at 7p.m. Mingle with fellow singles and enjoy wine tasting, cheese and music. Cost is $10 per person.Additionally, Crossing Vineyards and Winery hosts a pairing wine and dessert education class Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. Join event manager Kate Sielski as she instructs attendees on the details of pairing desserts with wine. Cost is $40 per person and includes instruction, wine tasting and various desserts. Reservations suggested.The winery will also host Hot Tunes Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. Enjoy the sounds of local bands playing anything from Latin to jazz. Wine and cheese will be available for purchase. Cost is $10 per person and reservations are suggested.On Feb. 24, Crossing Vineyards and Winery presents a wine tasting and yoga group at 11:30 a.m. Enjoy a one hour Vinyasa yoga class for beginners and advance levels. A private wine tasting will follow. Cost is $35 and reservations are required, as well is a yoga mat.In the afternoon, the winery helps new wine-comers with “A Dummies Guide to Wine Tasting” class at 2 p.m. Learn to be a wine tasting expert and have fun. Cost is $30 per person. Reservations are not required.
