Weekend wrap up of the latest in YA book-to-screen news, March 9, 2013

The cast of The CW's second pilot effort to adapt Kiera Cass' The Selection is filling in quite nicely now, with most of the leading parts in place. With this week's additions included, the line-up is as follows (so far):America Singer - Yael GrobglasAspen Leger - Lucien LaviscountPrince Maxon - Michael MalarkeyKing Clarkson - Anthony HeadAshley - Sarah WinterCeleste - Celia MassinghamSylvan Santos - Sean Patrick ThomasGaia - Peta SergeantThings are taking shape in the world of The Mortal Instruments, too.Lead actress Lily Collins will be helping author Cassandra Clare usher in the release of Clockwork Princess next week on Tuesday, March 19 with a signing in Los Angeles, California. Meanwhile, Clare herself has shared a glimpse of the tour bus she'll use to promote the Infernal Devices trilogy as well as a set visit diary from her time in Toronto for The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones.Finally, Clare has also unveiled the three titles of her upcoming The Dark Artifices trilogy, which takes place after the events of the six The Mortal Instruments installments.This week, there was a ton of activity over in Panem as Lionsgate revealed a load of fancy new character portraits from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Among the releases was one of Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) in a fancy white frock. Unlike the others, she stood behind her plain jane chair, which reminded of a moment in Suzanne Collins' book when she posed for Capitol pics of her wedding gown contenders. Although original suspicions indicated it might be a throw away, costumer Trish Summerville has now confirmed the dress is, in fact, the real deal.   • This week, as Fox continued to summon up essential castmates for its television adaptation of the first book, the third and final installment of Lauren Oliver's Delirium Trilogy, Requiem, finally hit shelves.
