"A pearl set in emeralds," is a memorable line of Moorish poetry describing Granada, Spain's magnificent poetry in stone and gardens known to the world as the Alhambra. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Alhambra began as a fort in the 889 and was converted in 1333 to a royal place by Yusuf I, Sultan of Granada.
