Vin Diesel's sci-fi thriller "Riddick," won the box office race this weekend earning $18.7 million during its debut weekend in theaters on Sept. 8, 2013. "Lee Daniel's The Butler" dropped one slot to second place earning an additional $8.9 million, the film about a White House butler has earned $91.9 million since its debut four weeks ago. The comedy starring Eugenio Derbez, Karla Souza and Jessica Lindsey, "Instructions Not Included" earned $8.1 million during its debut into theaters. "We're the Millers" took fourth place earning $7.92 million, the hit comedy has earned an impressive $124 million for Warner Bros. And Disney's "Planes" came in fifth place - still earning way beyond Disney's estimates, since the film was planned to be released straight to DVD.
Next weekend watch for two new films to shake-up the box office charts. Debuting this Friday, Sept. 13 are the mob comedy "The Family" and the horror flick "Insidious: Chapter 2."
