Urban Wine Tasting in NYC

These days you don’t need to travel to Napa or Long Island to taste your favorite wines, make a day of it with some “Urban Wine Tasting”. Where ever you may in the city, you are sure to find a spot that offers free (yes I said free) wine tastings almost any day of the week!

Here’s a sampling of some of shops that offer tastings in Manhattan:

Astor Wines (NoHo): Free wine and spirit tastings, Wednesday-Friday (6-8pm) and Saturday (3-5pm). Astor also offers some pretty cool ticketed wine, cocktail and food events at their attached event venue.

In addition to “Urban Wine Tasting”, there is a wonderful wine event returning to Manhattan next week, which is a perfect way to taste wines from all over the world under one roof! The New York Wine Expo is celebrating its 6th anniversary, March 1-3, 2013 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center.

Guests will be able to sample over 500 wines while tasting their way through the vineyards of Europe and the Mediterranean; South America and South Africa; and coast to coast in the United States.

Ticket prices are:
Friday, March 1, 6pm to 10pm - $85
Saturday, March 2, 1pm to 5pm - $95
Sunday, March 3: TRADE ONLY

ADDED BONUS: The event organizers have graciously offered a discount for my Examiner followers. Use the code word: EXAMINE for $15 off ticket prices.

But, that’s not all! I am also giving away 2 FREE Tickets to Friday Night’s Event at the Wine Expo to one lucky reader! Follow me on Twitter @emalamode, and keep a look out for a fun wine trivia question I will post on Monday, February 25 at 1pm EST. Be the first person to answer correctly and win 2 Tickets.

Good Luck and happy tasting!
