The Peoria Riverfront Museum is one of the city's newest family attractions, and the museum is offering several special programs for children and families during March. View this list to learn about three educational events at the Peoria Riverfront Museum in which your kids will want take part.
The museum opened in October 2012 and appeals to visitors of all ages. Patrons can view impressive art collections and world-renowned exhibits, as well as interactive displays about Illinois history and ecology. Discovery Worlds is a special section of the museum just for children. The museum also features a planetarium and a five-story high Giant Screen Theater.
Spring hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday; and noon-5 p.m. on Sunday. The museum is closed on Mondays.
General admission includes the galleries and the planetarium. The fee is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors and $9 for youth between the ages of three and 17. Peoria County residents receive a 15 percent discount, and members get in free. There is an additional fee for shows at the Giant Screen Theater.
