The Bradley Chemistry Club will present March Chemistry Madness at the Peoria Riverfront Museum at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30. People of all ages will be amazed by the wonders of science in action. Watch these exciting chemistry demonstrations for free with paid museum admission. The program will be held in the museum's River Science Lab.Barbara Unes will present Family Art Workshop at the Peoria Riverfront Museum from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 16. In this class, participants will create line drawings, experiment with texture, paint and make three-dimensional creations. Supplies and handouts will be provided. The cost for a family is $45 for museum members and $50 for non-members. The fee covers one adult and up to three children. At 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, Museum Learning Coordinator Nick Rae will lead children on a tour of the museum's Illinois River Encounter exhibit. Illinois River Encounter has displays and interactive features that teach visitors about the environment of the river and how people have used it to their benefit. This gallery walk is for children ages five and up. Advance registration is not necessary; to participate, meet in the museum lobby at 4 p.m. This tour is free with paid museum admission.

The museum opened in October 2012 and appeals to visitors of all ages. Patrons can view impressive art collections and world-renowned exhibits, as well as interactive displays about Illinois history and ecology. Discovery Worlds is a special section of the museum just for children. The museum also features a planetarium and a five-story high Giant Screen Theater.

Spring hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday; and noon-5 p.m. on Sunday. The museum is closed on Mondays.

General admission includes the galleries and the planetarium. The fee is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors and $9 for youth between the ages of three and 17. Peoria County residents receive a 15 percent discount, and members get in free. There is an additional fee for shows at the Giant Screen Theater.
