2013 has been the year of YA adaptations for the movie industry. From the paranormal romance “Beautiful Creatures,” released by Warner Brothers this past February, to the action-packed August release, “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,” studios are cranking out adaptations of popular YA novels as fast as they can. And with the recent successes of such major franchises as “The Twilight Saga” and “The Hunger Games,” it’s no surprise. With fans of YA series pouring into the theaters to see their favorite books play out on screen not just once, but again and again, the train of adaptations is not likely to stop anytime soon. Here’s a round up of some of the books you should read before their film counterparts hit the big screen.
