October is almost upon us. This month we come together in the fight against breast cancer. We honor our loved ones, ensure support is given and inspire hope in the hearts of all that one day we may find a cure.
Out of the many ways to raise funds, bake sales are always a popular choice. Despite that, there seems to be a shortage of ideas to go along with the sale. It seems to me that there are people out there who would be glad to put together their own bake sale if only they had somewhere to start.
Knowing a shortage of bake sale-appropriate recipes was a fairly common issue; I gathered a posse to comb the web in search of bake sale recipes consolidating them into a top ten list. Hopefully these will inspire you to bake your hearts out for a good cause, gather a team and go for it!
10. Strawberry Rice Krispies
This recipe is super simple, kid friendly, budget friendly and a creative spin on Rice Krispie Treats. If you don’t particularly care for strawberry flavoring, you can always opt for food coloring.
9. Edible Scepters
While not originally intended for a breast cancer fund raiser, this is a clever idea no matter what the intended event is. Marsh mallows dipped in pink-colored white chocolate topped with a pink M&M. This is undoubtedly a delicious and kid friendly recipe to boot.
8. Pink Sweet Popcorn
Taking the perfect sweet and salty mixture of popcorn balls and turning them pink! This one is a great idea, easy to make and budget friendly.
7. Pink Ribbon Cupcakes and Mason Jar Pink Lemonade
There’s definitely potential in this combination. Not only do they offer virtually endless possibilities, but almost everyone loves a good cupcake. This Mason jar idea can also easily be adapted to plastic cups to easily fit in to your bake sale.
6. Powdered Doughnuts In Pink Polka Dot Baking Cups
We couldn’t resist posting this one in addition to number seven! These are so yummy and you could even put them in decorative pink polka dot bags to go if you so desired.
5. Pink Zebra Cookies
These are a clever spin on classic Peanut Butter Kiss cookies. Perfectly pink and easy to make!
4. Strawberry Milk Whoopie Pies
This is a simply delicious and creatively put together recipe with the use of strawberry milk resulting in a very pretty color.
3. Breast Cancer Awareness Macarons
Let’s step up the game a little bit with these very creative cookies. They are delicious and a great opportunity to learn something new if you have never made macarons before.
2. Pink Velvet Cake Pops
Cake pops can be as simple or as fancy as you want them to be. They can be made in large quantities and many different flavors. Take these and run with them!
1. Bikini Cupcakes
We couldn't find a recipe to go with these, but we absolutely had to put them in our number one spot for the sheer creativity. On the bright side, these can be pretty easily recreated with a recipe for miniature cupcakes, a variety of sprinkles and several colors of royal icing.
