The 2014 Golden Globes are now over - there have been big winners including Award Darlings' Cate Blanchett (Best Drama Actress) and Jennifer Lawerence (Best Supporting Actress). The favorites for this Awards season won for their work in Dallas Buyers Club, Jared Leto (Best Supporting Actor) and Matthew Mcconaughey (Best Drama Actor). And, it isn't an award show without some surprises including Amy Adams and Leo DiCaprio winning their respective Leading Actor/tress Comedy Categories.
But, now let's get down to the glitz and the glam - what they were wearing on the Red Carpet! Let's commence with the lovely ladies and my personal Top Ten Favorites of the night!
#10 Zooey Deschanel
Zooey was her usual quirky-self with an old-fashion flare. I loved the neutral, blush color and the flower in her hair was a sweet touch. The textured shoes and top was bold and interesting on the red carpet.
#9 Drew Barrymore
Drew was glowing and simply a dream in her red, pink and blush dress. The red lips and red shoes were darling, and the textured dress was sweet. Some say too Valentines' Day - I say when you are pregnant and that sunshiny - it works.
#8 Maria Menounos
Maria was hot in hot pink on the red carpet. The cut-out was sexy and her slick ponytail really let her dress do the talking. Very few can pull-off hot pink and even fewer on the red carpet!
#7 Elisabeth Moss
The last of the quirky-bunch was the Golden Globe winner of the night, Elisabeth Moss. Her vibe was post-modern meets 1930's. Black was the hit color of the night and the burgundy tones with the interesting shapes made her a gem. My personal favorite touch was her gold triangle earrings.
#6 Amy Poehler
This funny leading lady nabbed a Golden Globe for the night and wore a killer dress on the red carpet. She looked slim and gorgeous in this noir-color, showing a bit skin was sexy. Less was def more. The gold braceletes were the perfect accessory.
#5 Cate Blanchett
My favorite of the black dresses was Cate Blanchett - her lacy take and diamond earrings were simply gorgeous. With this outfit Cate proved she is on the fashion map!
#4 Jessica Chastain
Jessica Chastain really does have the perfect shade of red hair... I loved the black, I love the texture-play, but most of all I loved the way the dress fit her body! Miss Chastain should change her last name to Rabbit. Sweetheart neck lines never go out of style and I have feeling neither will Jessica on the Red Carpet.
#3 Reese Witherspoon
It is not a red carpet without Reese. She really does have one of the most recognizable faces on this planet! We simply expect her to be there. And, Reese never disappoints. She went bright, monochromatic - my two favorite things for 2014! No one else wore this color on this red carpet and I think no one else could. It was a perfect color matching her hair, eyes and skin tone and the perfect fit for her petite frame.
#2 Lupita Nyong'o
12 Years a Slave was the big winner of the night - nabbing the Best Drama picture. And, the gorgeous Lupita did wonders on the Red Carpet in this red hot dress. The shade of red was vibrant and bold - and the cape aspect was so modern and refreshing!
#1 Amy Adams
My absolute favorite of the night was Amy Adams. I was surprised she won - but so happy for her nonetheless! She has been nom'd five times - but tonight was the night that she became the big winner - stealing the GG in the Best Comedy Actress Category. And, if any night was to do it - it was the night she was wearing this red color-blocked dress. The deep-vee embraced her curvaceous side and the long diamond necklace was sexy. My three favorite things on the red carpet are: a dress that fits like a glove, diamonds, and color perfectly matched to eyes, hair and skin tone. Amy wins with flying colors.
