During his visit to the United States on May 12, 2013 Prince Harry visited the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado to promote his fundraising effort in supporting injured military personnel from the the United Kingdom and the United States as well.
While at the Air Force Academy the heir to the throne in the United Kingdom spent some time with Air Force Academy head football coach Troy Calhoun. His brand of football of course is what we in the USA call soccer; in the spirit of uniting our two countries with sports Prince Harry was taught how to throw an American football. This gave him a chance to interact with some Air Force Academy football players and get a feel for the play calling involved in American football.
Prince Harry also spoke at fundraisers while on his American tour: these fundraisers were held to raise money to support injured military personnel. The high visibility that Prince Harry has also serves to raise the visibility of the issue of treating injured soldiers after their military service is over.
