The Pac-12 Conference is in their conference schedule so losses are starting to appear on their records. Pac-12 Conference member number five Stanford University Cardinal lost a conference game today to the University of Utah Utes in a game at Stanford Stadium, 27-21. The home standing Cardinal scored a touchdown and added a two-point conversion late to close to within six points (27-21) of Pac-12 member Utah and were stopped on a fourth down and short yardage in a last-chance effort to win the game: this was number five Stanford's first loss and they'll drop out of the top ten in next week's poll. Utah, who is not ranked in this week's poll, might jump into the top 25 next week.
The number two University of Oregon Ducks went up the Pacific coast to Seattle to play a Pac-12 Conference game against the number sixteen University of Washington: they beat the Huskies, 45-24. This was Oregon's first game in which they scored under 50 points this season. Coming in they had been winning games by an average of 47 points/game this year. Oregon will definitely stay number two in the country in next week's poll. This was Washington's second loss in a row, both Pac-12 games. Last week the Huskies lost to Stanford, 31-28.
The number eleven UCLA Bruins who hosted Cal stayed undefeated (5-0) by beating the University of California Bears, 37-10. The Bruins might get into the top ten next week since Stanford will likely be exiting it. The Cal Bears haven't won a game in the Pac-12 this year.
