Top five items you'll need for PAX East 2013

The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center is a beautiful piece of architecture. So beautiful, it's like visiting a baseball stadium or other grand theatre. What is it that both have in common? The food is really expensive. It's not like rock concert prices, but they are pretty close. Even the vending machines make you look twice. This one is up to you. If you're from out of town and visiting then go out and grab a nice lunch, but if you're local and see that stuff every day, then do yourself a favor and bring a lunch. One of the best things about PAX is the free swag. Companies are always giving things away: key chains, stickers, buttons, flyers, and you're going to need a place to carry them. Now, sometimes the convention will give you a bag as a gift, but you're going to want something sturdier. Also, how else would you carry your lunch?You will be doing plenty of walking; so much walking you'd think you were doing a marathon. With only a month left, PAX East 2013 is quickly approaching. If you're like this journalist, then you're extremely excited for this year, and there is plenty of news brewing as to who will be there this year. However, there will be time to talk about that once the event gets even closer. For now, here is a top five list of things you will definitely need to make your PAX a success.

  • For those of you who didn't know, the Nintendo DS has a neat chat room option called PictoChat. The cool thing about this, is that as long as there is an open internet connection, anyone else that has a DS can join the chat room. It makes communicating with anyone extremely easy. 
  • There are tons of people in cosplay. If you're lucky, maybe you'll even spot a celebrity or two.  Whatever it is you see at PAX you're going to want some kind of way to remember it. Boston is also a great place to go sightseeing.
