Lead vocalist Cal Shapiro and DJ Rob Resnick teamed up in college to form Timeflies, dubbing themselves “Electro Hip Pop Dub-something”. Their songs feature Shapiro rapping and singing over tracks that Resnick creates. The band gained fame when they began releasing videos every Tuesday on their YouTube page; some covers of songs, some originals, and some a mixture of both. “Timeflies Tuesday” was a hit among fans, trending on Twitter almost every week and creating buzz around what exactly it meant. Since touring with Fall Out Boy and Panic!
