Charlotte has a lot planned for this summer of 2014. There are festivals, races and bar crawls; something for every person of any walk of life to leave the home and sizzle in the summer fun. And yes, of course, there are concerts-the well-known and highly coveted concert stops that Charlotte has in abundance every year. From the Fillmore to the PNC Pavilion, here is a list of the Top 5 Rock Concerts that you can head bang your ass off to.
On April 23, 2014, the veteran band Chevelle will perform at the Fillmore Charlotte. Concert is at 7:30 p.m. and doors open an hour early. Tickets are $27.50 according to the Fillmore’s website and the concert still has room for more ticket sales. Some of Chevelle’s notable songs are “The Red”, “Mia” and most recently “Take out the Gunman”, all of which I’m sure they will play live.
Counting Crows, the amazingly eclectic band that tends to grab the likes of anyone who hears their music, will grace Charlotte with their presence on June 24, 2014 with Toad the Wet Sprocket. The band has been together for over 22 years, earning a Grammy nomination and selling millions of albums worldwide. Expect this concert being held at the Charlotte Uptown Amphitheatre to be sold out soon.
Dave Matthews Band
In multiple returns, The Dave Matthews Band has come to Charlotte and played their ever-appealing, great-sounding live style music for many to enjoy and will come again this summer to the PNC Music Pavilion (formally known as the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre). They play on July 22, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The Dave Matthews Band is an epiphany of diversity and their music can lift anyone into good spirits. This concert is family friendly, with affordably priced tickets for anyone to enjoy.
Fall Out Boy and Paramore
Right after The Dave Matthews Band concert is the Monumentour: Fall Out Boy and Paramore Concert Tour playing at the PNC Music Pavilion on July 23, 2014. This concert is a sure to sell out and seats are limited but still available. This concert is also kid friendly so if you have any pre-teens or teens that like to rock, this is a great option. The collaboration of the two styles will be refreshing and stimulating, a sensation to keep you moving throughout the summer night. Enjoy.
Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden
Last but not least, also playing at the PNC Music Pavilion, is the ever popular Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden Concert on August 7, 2014. This isn’t by far the last concert of the summer but this is one concert you would not want to miss. The concert starts at 7:00 p.m. and will go deep into the night. Soundgarden, formed 30 years ago, is one of my favorite bands; its longevity and experience in the music field has pioneered levels of music no one could have imagined. Nine Inch Nails, the hard core, unapologetic head banger is also another veteran band that has been in the industry for decades will continue to knock your heads on their summer night and add to their endless stream of music legend.
