  • LeAnn Rimes cheated on her husband with Eddie Cibrian who was married to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville.  When the affair ended up on the cover of US Weekly, Cibrian denied the allegations saying, “It is a fabricated story that is using random snapshots as connective tissue to create a scandalous relationship.”  Rimes divorced her husband Dean Sheremet while Eddie Cibrian and Brandi Glanville’s marriage also ended.  Rimes and Cibrian married in 2011.
  • Lance Armstrong has been fighting the rumors that he had used “performance-enhancing drugs” when he won the Tour de France seven times.  He denied the allegations for over a decade before in January of 2013, he finally admitted he’d taken the banned substances in order to enhance his athletic performances.  
  • The former California Governor and action star Arnold Schwarzenegger was hit with the scandal of not only cheating on his wife, Maria Shriver with their long time housekeeper but he also had a child with her.  In 2011, Schwarzenegger confirmed his affair with Mildred Baena and that they had a son together. He said that, “it was the stupidest thing” he’d ever done. His marriage of 25 years didn’t survive the scandal.
  • Beyonce’s huge fan base didn’t want to believe it when the singer was accused of lip-syncing the national anthem at President Barack Obama’s second inauguration. At a later press conference just prior to performing at the Super Bowl, Beyonce admitted to lip-syncing.  She explained why she lip-synced saying, “I am a perfectionist and I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra at the inauguration. It was a very important, emotional show for me. Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check, I didn’t feel comfortable performing live.”
  • Rumors hit the news that President Bill Clinton was involved in an affair with White House intern, Monica Lewinsky.  In January 1998, Clinton vehemently denied the accusations that he had cheated on his wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton saying, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” In August of the same year, Lewinsky was interrogated by Congress and provided them with a dress she wore that was stained with his DNA.  President Bill Clinton was forced to admit that he’d had an “improper physical relationship” with Monica Lewinsky.
  • Jennifer Aniston and her husband Brad Pitt were Hollywood’s golden couple.  They always appeared to be happy and very much in love.  Imagine the surprise of their fans when rumors surfaced that Pitt was cheating with his Mr. & Mrs. Smith costar Angelina Jolie.  The rumors were squashed when the power couple was photographed on a romantic vacation to Anguilla.  Both Pitt and Aniston denied the cheating rumors until Aniston filed for divorce in March 2005.  In an interview in 2008, Angelina Jolie finally admitted to the affair when she said that she was excited that one day her children would be able to watch Mr. & Mrs. Smith because “not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love.”
  • Charlie Sheen tried to deny the rumors that he hired prostitutes from the infamous Hollywood madam, Heidi Fleiss.  During her arrest, her “black book of famous customers” surfaced prompting Sheen to again deny he was one of her customers.  Federal investigators discovered checks written by Sheen when they investigated Fleiss for tax evasion and money laundering.  Charlie Sheen testified during her trial that he spent $50,00 on her prostitutes in two years.
  • In 2007, a series of stories revealed that former presidential candidate, John Edwards cheated on his wife with campaign worker, Rielle Hunter and had a child with her.  Edwards had campaign aide Andrew Young claim that it was his child and he was the one involved with Hunter.  In 2012, John Edwards finally admitted that he had cheated with Rielle Hunter and was the father of her two year-old daughter, Quinn.  Regarding Quinn, Edwards said, “I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves.”
  • Kim Kardashian faced rumors that she was pregnant with boyfriend, Kanye West’s baby, while she was still married to Kris Humphries.  In March of 2013, Kardashian appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and denied that they were planning on naming their child North West.  She said, “That’s not true. That’s not one of the names on our list.”  When her daughter was born in June 2013, they did in fact name her, North West.
  • In the late 1980s Germans Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus were the former pop group, Milli Vanilli.  Their debut album included the hit song, “Girl You Know It’s True.”  It didn’t take long for the rumors to hit the tabloids that the two weren’t the ones singing on the tract. Instead, allegations that Morvan and Pilatus were lip-syncing surfaced.  Not only were Morvan and Pilatus denying the rumors but their producer, Franz Farian vehemently denied the allegations for over a year.  In November 1990, amid immense pressure from the press , Morvan and Pilatus, Farian was forced to admit that it was a fact that the two men who comprised the Milli Vanilli group were not the ones singing.  The truth came out that Milli Vanilli was lip-syncing.
  • Paula Deen was the lovable Southern belle on the Food network.  Her career took a nosedive when one of her former managers sued the chef for using the N word.  During a deposition for the lawsuit, Deen admitted that she had used the offensive word. Deen later told Matt Lauer that when she used the word, she was referring to a black man who had put a gun to her head years ago.  She went on to insist that she wasn’t a racist.
  • Rumors surfaced that ice skater, Tonya Harding was involved in the attack on her competitor, Nancy Kerrigan just before the 1994 Winter Olympics.  Initially Harding denied any involvement in the attack to Kerrigan’s knees.  Turns out she knew about the attack before it happened. After the Olympics, The United States Figure Skating Association banned Tonya Harding for life blocking her from ever participating in USFSA run events as a skater or coach.
  • Simon Cowell denied for months that he was having an affair with his then best friend, Andrew Silverman’s wife, Lauren.  On August 20, 2013, Cowell told the BBC that he was in a relationship with Lauren Silverman and she was pregnant with his first child.  On his impending fatherhood, Simon Cowell said, “I’m proud to be a dad. It’s something I hadn’t thought of before, but now I know I feel good about it.”
  • In 2009, professional golfer, Tiger Woods found himself in a lot of hot water when over a dozen women came forward claiming that he had cheated on his wife, Elin Nordegren with them.  While he initially denied the rumors, he finally admitted that he’d had affairs with all of those women and his marriage to Elin was over. In December 2009, Woods wrote on his website that he was “deeply aware of the disappointment  and hurt that my infidelity has caused so many people, most of all my wife and children.
  • In 2011, a story surfaced alleging that Rev. Jesse Jackson, a well-respected politician and minister had an affair with a member of his staff.  Karin Stanford gave birth to Jackson’s daughter, Ashley in 1999.  Rev. Jesse Jackson eventually confirmed that he did have an affair with Stanford and that Ashley was his daughter.  In 2001, Jackson was reported to be paying Karin Stanford $4,000 a month in child support.

Simon Cowell denied for months that he was having an affair with his then best friend, Andrew Silverman’s wife, Lauren.
