On March 28, 2014, the president of the United Film & Television Artists (UFTA) Al Quinn stated that there are at least ten perks or benefits now for its members when it comes to their involvement with UFTA. One of the latest is a film project that carries many perks alone!
The goals of UFTA are to...
"educate the public and membership to concerns facing artists and other production crafts personnel, associated with the film, television, video, broadcast, recording, and theater products in the State of Florida.
improve business and working conditions which benefit the entire industry of artists and other production crafts personnel, associated with the film, television, video, broadcast, recording, and theater products in the State of Florida.
support the enactment of laws which advance the common interests of the crafts personnel, associated with the film, television, video, broadcast, recording, and theater products in the State of Florida.
assist and collaborate with all other organizations and/or agencies desirous of achieving these purposes." - UFTA
The United Film & TV Artists, Inc. does not claim to represent anyone, as an agent would, but they rather help "guide" members steering them away from possible pitfalls. In so doing, members of UFTA help to educate, train, offer experience, opportunities, networking and of course support those new in the business.
This film project was in pre-production for years, and now it's finally been shot and wrapped, and it is currently in post-production." - Al Quinn

Experience & Support - UFTA President Al Quinn
UFTA President Al Quinn is the founder of UFTA and has been active since the beginning.
Quinn is a seasoned SAG actor and is the co-director and producer of "Casting." He also played a producer in the film!
Promoting one's self, one's company, a product and more is very important, and having promotional items to help one do it is just as important. Pens, bookmarks, business cards, hats, and in this case t-shirts, etc. are a few of the many ways to do it. UFTA helps steer its members in that direction - promoting themselves (in a good light that is)!
Experience - On set of "Casting"
Here is one of many on-set shots taken during the filming of UFTA's film "Casting." It was shot in Naples and in Fort Myers, Fla.
Production - Ernesto Lasso de la Vega on location
Ernesto Lasso de la Vega is a college professor and Biologist. He has also been involved in film productions. His latest was as director of photography (DP) on UFTA's "Casting."
Educate & Train - UFTA Workshop
Here is a shot of audience participants, as well as UFTA officers (Carrie Belluso and Al Quinn) during one of many UFTA workshops. That evening members learned more about makeup and being prepared when it comes to being represented by a talent agent.
Experience - Cassidy Reyes front and center on film set
UFTA members take part in this film. In addition to Cassidy Reyes are, seated, Al Quinn and Judy Davis. In background in red shirt is DP Ernesto Lasso de la Vega.
Network & Guest Speaker - Joe Majestic
Another thing UfTA offers is a guest speaker at every meeting. Meetings, by the way, are held once a month, usually the second Monday of the month. Such guest speakers can be actors, filmmakers, artists, writers, stunt talent, makeup, hair - anything that relates to the entertainment industry.
This speaker was Joe Majestic, a filmmaker who had traveled to Florida with the idea of shooting a film there. Members, therefore, have a chance to be considered to be cast and/or crew for such people like Joe Majestic. Guest Keith Wallace had suggested Joe to be a guest, so it was and is a "win win" for everyone!
Network & Production - Carrie Belluso
UFTA Officer Carrie Belluso is the organization's treasurer. Belluso is an active member and took part in the film "Casting." She played, Lucille, a producer in the film.
Belluso is a wonderful person to network with and help guests learn about UFTA.
Experience - Pooja Patel in makeup on set
Young actress Pooja Patel is a natural when it comes to film acting. Here she is on set of the film "Casting." Her role was that of Rani Singh.
Pooja is also a member of UFTA.
Production & Experiences - Shivani Patel
UFTA member, film actress and model is Shivani Patel.
Patel portrayed one of two Singh sisters in the film. They bickered with each other proving that was no way to act on a casting!
Experiences & Production - Rick Vorrell
Actor and model Rick Vorell is a UFTA member and also a cast member of the film "Casting." Rick not only acted in the film but offered his expertise in the business during the film shoot giving helpful advice.
Production & Experience - UFTA member and actress Margaret Bishop
Model and actress Margaret Bishop is an active UFTA member.
Bishop played Emma Hurring in the film "Casting" that was produced by UFTA and is in post-production.
Experience & Production - Benjamin Jacob
Benjamin Jacob is a member of UFTA, and an active one at that. He, too, was an actor in the film "Casting" and good reason, as Jacob has a long history of acting and modeling and knows what to expect and how to "act" on any set!
Support & Resume - Geri Muck and Judy Davis
UFTA members Geri Muck and Judy Davis work together at UFTA and outside of it as well.
Muck is a UFTA officer and has supported the organization since the beginning. Her talent agency, Protocol Models on the Gulf, was used to shoot part of the film "Casting." Both Muck and Davis were actors in the film.
Geri Muck can't say enough about how being part of UFTA, or any such organization, does not only look good on the resume, but is helpful in many ways as well!
Experience - Griffen Olney on set
Griffen Olney, a college student, and new to UFTA, has found another way to express his acting talents. Even though it looks like he is just sitting Olney is indeed working on set waiting for his next film scene in the movie "Casting."
Network & Production - UFTA member Larry D. Murphy
Actor Larry D. Murphy has been a member of UFTA since its inception. He is a offer officer and active member.
Murphy has been in multiple film and TV projects. He is also very good at networking with those interested in the entertainment industry.
Experience - On set of film "Casting"
UFTA produced film "Casting" with UFTA members Margaret Bishop, Erensto Lasso de la Vega, Joe Reyes, Benjamin Jacob and Geri Muck.
The film scene here was shot at Protocol Models on the Gulf in Naples, Fla.
Production & Experience - Cassidy Reyes, teen UFTA member
This young UFTA member is Cassidy Reyes. She and her father are UFTA members, and they are very active with the group as well.
UFTA would like to think that it has influenced these two members in a good way in the entertainment industry. Joe Reyes, Cassidy's father, is a UFTA member and was the key grip on a film produced by UFTA.
Cassidy, herself, holds a media chair with UFTA and had an acting role in the same film as above called "Casting."
"Field Trip" & Production - UFTA member in character on film set
Here one of UFTA members is in makeup (four hours of it), out of town on set doing a shoot using green screen. The talent, (DJ), said the film she was shooting was an action adventure genre.
As a result of shooting this film DJ and one guest, with other film cast and crew, traveled to Norway to represent the film. The proceeds went to the American and Norwegian Cancer Societies.
Network - Nick Nolte and Joe Majestic
Joe Majestic was a guest speaker for UFTA, and here he is seen with actor Nick Nolte.
Networking is always a good thing, as you never know who you might meet!
Production - Film work for Keith Wallace
Keith Wallace, a recent guest at UFTA, is seen here in a film scene. Wallace has been active in the acting industry for years, and likes to visit UFTA to network with other actors.
Experience & Production - Tennis Pro Judy Davis (on right)
UFTA member Judy Davis is an active member of UFTA.
Davis was cast in the film "Casting" and protrayed the casting agent, Myra Mayberry, at the pretend casting office.
Production & Experience - A UFTA member being a character lookalike
Here, same actress DJ, is shown shooting in Manhattan as a lookalike to the character Trinity from the MATRIX films.
This photo, one of many on the photo shoot, was used for promotional reasons. The photographer used "digital enhancements" for the background.
Network & Experience - Keith Wallace
UFTA Guest Keith Wallace is an actor and has been a part of UFTA as well as a past film-related organization.
Wallace knows the important of such groups and how they and its members can be beneficial to each other.
Educate & Train - Makeup Workshop
Cassidy Reyes and Jennifer Ramsey are part of UFTA workshop.
Reyes is the model and Ramsey is the makeup artist. Reyes, too, is a member of UFTA.
