With the latest Nicholas Sparks books coming out on September 17 entitled The Longest Ride, I thought it would be fun to see to look back on the books that he’s written since 1996.
He is one of the most popular romance novels, probably next to Nora Roberts. He doesn't write quite as frequently and his books aren't textbook 'romance' but it has all the basic elements: boy meets girl, conflict between boy/girl, conflict is resolved.
The book adaptations for his books have done well at the box office. According to boxofficemojo.com, his book adaptations have accumulated brought in $461.7 million. The highest adaptation, to no one’s surprise, is The Notebook with $81 million.
In total, he has written 17 novels. 8 of those novels have been adapted to film, with The Best of Me in works to be adapted to the big screen. This latest novel involves two love stories in one and I’m sure it’s going to have a bitter sweet ending, like many of his other novels.
Listed are the top books that he has written and all the things that make them great.
