"@feliceherrig that sounds pretty hot..," Evinger tweeted, in response to a post from Herrig about her inability to "keep quiet."
Evinger, the No. 10-ranked 125-pound female fighter in the world, has gained a solid Twitter fan base by tweeting innocuously flirtatious posts to Herrig and other WMMA brawlers over the past few years.
The Missouri native isn't just open about her lesbian sexuality, she makes it very clear about how she feels about who she is attracted to, even if they are heterosexual female fighters.
Plenty of fighters date each other, so it's not necessarily a conflict of interest to be flirtatious via Twitter.
However, some would argue that Evinger is a bit forward with her messages.
"@feliceherrig ur too cute..u r a lesbian, just close ur eyes n say 'yes'," Evinger tweeted to Herrig.
"Lil' Bulldog" responded, "Wishful thinking... but I'm not."
Evinger had a bit more to say about on the matter.
"@feliceherrig never say never girl...Somethimes ppl surprise u n ur whole outlook changes," Evinger tweeted back to Herrig.
Later in the day, she added "@ritocovarrubias @feliceherrig listen guys, all chic's r lesbians..some go willing n some need alittle alcohol, but they all come over."
Evinger's recent over-the-top comments towards Herrig wasn't the first time she discussed being attracted to a heterosexual female fighter in such a public forum.
"I’d like to make out with Gina, but I am here to knock her out," Evinger said prior to fighting Gina Carano in 2007, during a press conference covered by national media outlets. "Either way she wants it, though, is fine with me."
Evinger's advances can be viewed either as cute or a bit too over the top, depending on who you ask, but she is who she is and you can't fault her for speaking her mind.
Perhaps moving forward, she can show better social media decorum by toning is down a bit with her flirting.
On the other hand, Evinger clearly has serious game, since she convinced Carano to play-fight with her following their 2007 bout.
Time will tell if her Twitter flirtations with Herrig will become anything more than a few saucy tweets, but fight fans will be watching with wide eyes to see how the situation plays out.
In honor of Evinger, here's a look at her funniest tweets of the month.
