The Tia Cibani Spring Summer 2014 fashion show consisted of a mix brightly colored patterns and style, that was presented during New York Fashion Week Spring 2014. The runway show displayed the idea of global eclecticism embraced by Ms. Cibani, as she created the twenty-seven look womenswear collection. The North African born and Canada raised designer succeeded in conveying formal structure with a whimsical tone. The clothes look cheerful, easy and happy. I served as the house photographer for this event.
A really cool Summer number is an azul pixel aztec jacquard bolero jacket, azul draw-string scoop neck top, azul floral tile jacquard shorts and hibiscus confetti ballet flats. It's perfect for Summer brunch or shopping. A more business-like, yet still very chic look is a canvas cotton poplin A-line shirt, azul-mix mosaic patchwork jacket, and azul dot jacquard cropped trousers.
The best outfit in the collection is an azul-mix graffiti striped multi-wrap kaftan, eucalyptus duchesse stain sculpted dolman sleeve coat, with nude viva platform shoes. The simple, symmetrical elegance of the coat, calmed the colorful, dazzling patterns on the kaftan dress.
The juxtaposition of quite and noise was also exhibited in the venue. The fashion presentation was held at the Paul Kasmin Gallery on 515 West 27 Street in the legendary Chelsea art district in Manhattan. It's stark white walls provided the necessary plain background to a colorful zigzag runway; benches decorated with stripes and impressionist painting of birds by Flat Vernacular; plus the floor for the venue was entirely covered with multi-colored confetti, primary of orange, violet and sky blue. Kate Bolduan, co-anchor of "New Day" on CNN was one of many stylish guests that attended the fashion show.
The entire collection can be viewed at Tia Cibani Spring Summer 2014.
