Last night, Universal Orlando held their annual Employee Preview event for Halloween Horror Nights. The whole point behind Employee Preview night is to use employees of Universal Orlando as Guinea Pigs to get the actors ready for opening night. Parts of the night include doing fire drills, practicing procedures, and having fun!
I chatted with one of my friends who attended Employee Preview and asked them for their thoughts on each haunted house. Click the list to the left to see their thoughts.
Overall, there were a lot of positive comments on each and every single house this year over Twitter last night. While some effects were not completely working and some props still need to be installed, the positive comments that were being said last night promises for a big opening night and overall event.
Some food for thought:
This year features scare zones with scare actors who are ready to scare you. They use simple effects, but done correctly, make for great scares. Here's some thought from the Atlanta scare zone:
In Streets of Atlanta/NY they had a survivor running from a Walker. He jumped on top of the tank, and the walker kept coming after him, he couldn't run anymore and then the walker bites him and shambles away. The survivor slid of the tank holding his "bitten" leg, dragged him self away from it and very slowly started shambling turning into a walker. It was so simple yet so awesomely effective.
