Third Friday Art Walk in Englewood Arts Station this weekend

The Third Friday Art Walk in the Englewood Arts Station is from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Firday June 20. Over 50 artists will be showing their paintings, photography, and sculptures. This is the beginning weekend of the “Gypsy Caravan” which is antiques, flea markets, flowers, produce, books, jewelry, art, food, and entertainment.

The first place Kansas City Royals will include a celebritry wiffle ball game featuring Paul Rudd, Rob Riggle, and Jason Sudeikis among other celebrities. Other sporting events include Sports Fest at Sporting Park, The FC Kansas City soccer on Saturday night, The Tour of Kansas City Cycling Festival at Longview Friday through Saturday, and the Kansas City Wide Open Professional Disc Golf Tournament through Sunday.

Theater June 20 through June 22:

  • Chestnut Fine Arts Center: 234 N. Chestnut, Olathe, “Bob and Bing,” closes June 22.
  • Coterie Theatre: Crown Center, “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” closes August 3.
  • H&R Block City Stage Theater: Union Station, “Cinderella,” closes June 28.
  • Jenkin and Barbara David Theater: Park University, “Bill W. and Dr. Bob,” closes June 22.
  • Just Off Broadway Theatre: 3051 Central, “Of Mice and Men,” closes June 22.
  • Living Room Theatre: 1818 McGee, “Master of the Universe,” closes June 29.
  • Off Center Theatre: Crown Center, “Lysistrata Jones: A Musical Comedy,’ closes July 13.
  • Quality Hill Playhouse: 303 W. 10, “Rhapsody in Gershwin,” closes July 6.

Aftershock Bar located at 5244 Merriam Dr. in Merriam, Kan.  Friday night the club presents on stage Saliva at 7 p.m. On June 27 the club will present the Once in a Lifetime Tour featuring Pawn Shop, Odd-O-Matic, Save the Great, Hotel Coffee, Masquerade, Organized Mess and Perpetual Motion beginning at 6 p.m.

Daveys Uptown Ramblers Club

Davey’s Uptown Ramblers Club is located just south of downtown at 3402 Main in Kansas City.  Friday night the club presents One Drop Pulse and Liv Stat at 9 p.m. with a $7 cover charge.  Saturday night the club features Black on Black, Stay Sick, Federation of Horsepower, and Panties Inferno at 9 p.m. with a $10 cover charge.

Kelly’s Westport Inn located at 500 Westport Road, in the Westport Entertainment District.  Friday the club will feature on stage Lost Wax at 10 p.m.  At 10 p.m. on Saturday night, The Magnetics take the main stage.  Kelly’s Westport Inn has an outdoor dining and drinking area located on the rooftop of the business.

The RecordBar is located at 1020 Westport Road in the Westport Entertainment District.   On Friday night at 6 p.m., the club presents the Doo Dads and at 10 p.m. Enemy Planes, Drew Black and Dirty Electric, Standby Anchors, and Vehicles take the stage.  Saturday at 7 p.m., the club features Squids KC Acoustic Redux-Free and at 10 p.m., Mr. Mojo Risin’:  A Celebration of the Doors with special guest Sir Knucklehead.

The Riot Room is located just north of Westport Road at 4048 Broadway in the Westport Entertainment District. Friday night at 8:30 p.m. the World League Entertainment Presents:  Krayzie Bone and at 10 p.m., Shameless Management KC Presents:  West End Girl, Pistol Pete, and DJ Clockwerk at 10 p.m.  Saturday night at 8 p.m. The Foreign Exchange takes the stage and at 10 p.m., Electric City Presents:  Swell Presents.
