‘The Walking Dead’ spoilers: Humans bigger threat than walkers now

As “The Walking Dead” returns, you might notice things are changing a bit. In the past, the zombie apocalypse meant you had to look over your shoulder all the time just in case a walker wanted to gnaw at your neck.

Now, Lauren Cohen who plays Maggie Green on AMC’s zombie drama says humans are a bigger threat than walkers ever were. She explains in a BuddyTV interview dated Feb. 10.

During the mid-season finale, The Governor, Rick, Michonne, Merle, and Daryl all found themselves in a heap of trouble. You are probably thinking they are running for their lives from the zombies, right? Not this time.

Things took a turn as Rick and his gang entered Woodbury as their tried to save Glenn, Maggie, and Daryl from The Governor and his men.

Does this mean the walkers will be less of a threat in future episodes of “The Walking Dead”? Not necessarily. What it means is that in addition to running away from walkers, the zombie apocalypse survivors will also have to run away from their fellow humans.

Turf wars will inevitably overshadow fighting off the walkers as everyone vies for a safe haven from infected walkers.

Lauren Cohen explains in her BuddyTV interview: “The idea of the human threat is going to get stronger and it's going to be as much of a emotional roller coaster as the first half was. So be prepared.”
