Everyone knows how glorious Malibu is, how funky Silverlake is, and how congested The Valley is, and like the mall at Christmas, you know you'll be back - again and again. Whether it's a familiar diner or the only decent dry cleaner's in town, your everyday plan includes returning to the same spots, year over year.

However, there are those times when we rediscover old vistas, whether here in LA or far beyond. It could be a sunset in the Himalayas or a sunrise seen from the back of an Alaskan cruise ship. Or it may be more modest, a one-of-a-kind antique shop in Northern California or an historic monument in Arizona.
