When it comes to energy drink companies, there are the big three players, and then there is everyone else. Of these three, two of them, Monster and Rockstar, work very hard to outdo one another, and many times it means coming out with as many "me-too" flavors and formulas. To date, there are over 20 different Rockstar flavors - with everything from a diet fruit punch to hydration packed energy water, numerous coffee and energy shot products and even energy chewing gum.

Of course when you pack the shelves full of different flavors of your product, unless you happen to have a hit on your hands, chances are any new Rockstar is going to have a pretty limited life span. While many of these Rockstars are now nowhere to be seen, this is just a sampling of some of the best of the Rockstar Energy Line:

Rockstar Pink

Rockstar Pink had everything a girl would want in a high energy soda.  There are few calories, a decent smattering of energy ingredients and a healthy big dose of caffeine.   Of course, when this was released that was not what people bought it for. This rockstar drink actually came with a little zippy straw glued to the side of the can.  I can imagine warehouses littered with unglued or popped off straws covering their floors - but it was fun to bring back memories of Capri-Suns, only in a more grownup form.

Rockstar Zero Carb

While not the fanciest of the bunch, Rockstar Zero Carb continues to be one of the best solid energy drinks out there.  With a great taste, tons of caffeine and chock full of herbs and vitamins, this epitomizes what an energy drink should be.   IT also does not hurt that this is consistently one of their best sellers, which means it is relatively easy to find and should be sticking around for quite some time. 27/30

What does Rockstar, an irreverent company in the middle of Vegas know about brewing and bottling coffee?  Turns out they could do a whole lot worse.  You can still find some Rockstar coffee drinks around in some stores, but they are disappearing like the dodo.  These are the epitome of canned coffee - there is a good amount of caffeine and a decent flavor here too.  While its definitely not the best canned coffee around, it is still fun to see the epitome of grunge-filled teen-angsty drinks try to make coffee cool again.

Rockstar Relax

Finally tweaked out on too much energy?  Well Rockstar Relax has the cure for you too!   Rather than go the high caffeine route, Rockstar released a Relax formula anti-energy drink with the idea it would help you mellow out as opposed to perk up.   This one came out a couple years ago when Relaxing anti-energy drinks hit the market, like Dream Water and Drank.  Rockstar did not actually put anything terribly relaxing in their formula however, and it ended up being more or less a Diet non-caffeinated less tasty Snapple.

Rockstar 2X Energy

Hands down, Rockstar 2x is the best Rockstar of them all.   Not only does it look cool and sleek, coming onto the shelves looking like a ninja, but it also acts like a ninja, sneaking up on you then kicking you hard in the ass.  The 2X means twice the caffeine - and they actually do pack in twice the normal caffeine and energy ingredients and still manage to make a great lemonade flavored drink.   Seeing as the caffeine content was so high, these did not last long on shelves.  If you still find them around, these are the ones to stockpile and enjoy.
