It is located at the Champlain Valley Exposition, 105 Pearl Street, Essex Junction.

The hours of operation are 10 am - 6 pm, Friday and Saturday and 10 am - 4 pm, Sunday.

Elmer and Bertha Brown were family friends of this examiner growing up. We were members of the same church and Elmer sang in the North Country Chordsmen barbershop chorus with my father.

One of this examiner's favorites from the nursery was a flowering crab apple tree that flourished at the end of the driveway year after year.

  • Backyard garden, tree purchased from Grand Isle Nursery.   Within a month these fragrant blossoms appeared.  Throughout the summer this young sapling attracted hummingbirds and yellow finches to the garden.
  • UVM Horticulture Farm, known as the "Best Kept Secret Garden!"Lilacs as well as crabapples are lovely and fragrant during early May at the Annual Bloom Fest and Plant Sale run by the Friends of the Hort Farm.
  • Friends of the Hort Farm annual plant sale in early May, this event jump starts my spring plans.There is an option of becoming a member for a nominal donation, which last year included a Gardener's Supply Co. gardening book and a t-shirt.This examiner bought strawberry plants for the first time to great success.In the past I found great deals on house plants or enjoyed wandering through the fragrant lilac groves.The day is filled with family fun activities.  Please see the link above for more information. 
  • One of this examiner's favorite traditions is to buy a new hanging geranium plant on Memorial Day Weekend.There are a wide variety of colors.  I have tried pink, salmon, Mandarin (orange-ish red,) white, fuschia, or a mixture of two or three, but the bright red shown here is always a popular choice.
  • Ground cover and other perennial plants, berry bushes, rose bushes and so much more are available at Claussen's.The friendly and knowledgeable staff can help choose any product that will aid in the gardening experience.Embellish an outdoor space with a bird bath, wind chimes, decorative pots and planters.  Skies the limit.
  • Located at 63 Brickhouse Road, East Hardwick, VTEnjoy the gardens and choose the perfect addition to your own garden.  Check out the Phlox Fest coming this summer at Perennial Pleasures & Tea House.What goes together better than flowers, a pot of tea and cream scones?! 
  • This was a surprise marriage in this examiner's backyard garden.  The pink blossom strawberry plants came from Claussen's.  They were planted in May and amazingly produced berries into October.They bloomed until the hard frost in November.  Not really sure if this was natural for this type or my use of moss as bedding made this happen.My first attempt at growing strawberries was very successful.The cucumber seeds from Price Chopper were planted in June.   This photo was taken in September.The runners of both plants intertwined and flourished. 
  • This was the first attempt at a backyard garden for this examiner.It was a verify satisfying feeling to watch it grow and change almost every day.The pumpkin, cucumber, watermelon, radish, dill seeds as well as the gladiola bulbs came from Price Chopper.  The strawberry plants in the back came from Claussen's (pink blossom) and the UVM Horticulture Farm (white blossom.)
