Nearly everyone knows of Bob Dylan, and if you don't then you should be heading to Youtube right about now. This troubadour of times went from being a small town Minnesota son, to a New York City rambler to a multi-million dollar success. Having written over 350 songs easily, the saying "Bob Dylan has written every popular song for the last 50 years" rings true in a certain way. This is because even if Bob Dylan didn't directly write those songs, he most likely influenced them. When many people think of Bob Dylan, an image pops into their head, this image can be one of many. Bob Dylan is somewhat of a chameleon, and has changed his look, and even style, more times than Madonna can count. However, each one of these new looks is just as good as the last one, and true fans can even forgive that strange 1980's phase every artist seemingly went through. However, many don't realize just how many different looks and changes Bob Dylan has really gone through. This is why this list has been created. Here you can see every Bob Dylan, from teenage Bob to 2013 Bob, or as I call "old Bob." So sit back, and click the list, then come back and share your own opinions on this mysterious song and dance man with a genius mind. Which Bob Dylan is your favorite?
Teenage Bob Dylan
Here we see Bob sitting on a motorcycle. As you can see, this photo was taken in 1957, making Bob about 17 years old when it was taken. Complete with baby fat, and a child's smile. Only a few years later would he become the Bob Dylan we all know and love.
Early 1960's Bob Dylan
Here we see Bob in New York City during the early 1960's. During this point, Bob was still very into his Woody Guthrie phase and was still trying to make a name for himself. Fame would come quick and relatively easy for this young man, still full of wonder.
Bob around 1964-65
Here we see Bob go through a rather large change compared to his early folky 60's days. This is just a glimpse of the late 1965-into 1966 Bob we will see. This is shortly before he went electric, and upset many in the folk community by doing so.
65-66 Bob Dylan
Here is the Bob Dylan in which many remember, the newly electric Bob Dylan. Actually, this photo was taken the day he went electric at the Newport Folk Festival. This day would change history of music and lay the ground for many new artists to follow.
Late 1960's Bob Dylan
Following a harsh touring schedule and a motorcycle accident, Bob Dylan essentially went into hiding. This is where this photo was taken, near his then home in Woodstock NY. Bob Dylan would reappear later through the help of Johnny Cash with the album "Nashville Skyline." His voice would also change, in an attempt for fans to disown him, which obviously failed.
It should be noted that this is not the only look in which Bob Dylan took on during the 70's. He would wear a few different looks, including his Gospel look and an exotic look which can be seen during his Rolling Thunder Revue tour. This is the decade where Bob would change a bit more, with divorce crushing him, religion challenging him and new love blooming.
1980's Bob Dylan
So, I've tried to spare you all from the odd looks in which Bob Dylan adopted during the 1980's. Though, it is common to look back on the 80's and cringe, I still decided to go with a more flattering photo for you all to enjoy. This was taken circa 1980.
1990's Bob Dylan
Many great tunes came from Bob during the 1990's, as with many great images and television appearances too. This is just one of many great photos of the genius as work which span from those years.
Early 2000's Bob Dylan
Here we see Bob in the movie "Masked and Anonymous." This is when Bob went from troubadour to cowboy, and stayed that way. This photo is from the 2003 movie, starring a wonderful cast and including some great music.
2013 Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan has been born, has been engulfed in flames, has returned from the grave and has been born again many times over. Here we see as I like to call "old Bob" on stage in 2013. However, he may be old, but he still has definitely got it. His face may be wrinkled with wisdom, though his puppy dog eyes and lighting smile still shines through. His hair still glows with the light of a thousand angels and his voice still captivates. Bob Dylan has been going for so many years, here's to many more to hopefully come.
