The five worst Madonna songs

On Monday afternoon, one of Madonna's photographers announced that he was listening to her new album. Her fans started going nuts on Twitter and wanted to know more. However, Team Madonna has denied that the album is even close to being finished.

Over the past couple of weeks, Madonna has used Instagram in order to post several pictures of herself working on the new project. She has been seen posing with Avicii, Natalia Kills, Toby Gad, and Mozilla. Others say she has also been recording with DJ White Shadow and Giorgio Moroder. This could be a great album. Then again, that's what people said about 2012's musical disaster MDNA.

Madonna has made a lot of great records over the years. Unfortunately, she has made some awful records as well. Some would put "American Pie" on a list of her worst songs, but we think it is actually a well produced record. The problem, however, is that the song was one that should never be remade, especially by a dance pop artist. "Borderline" is much worse, because her voice was slowed down to appeal to a more general top 40 audience at the time (1984).

In late 1989, "Oh Father" became Madonna's first hit to miss the top ten and there is a reason for that--the song is awful. Madonna's singing is not only more off-key than usual, but the song sounds like something that was left on a musical theater production cutting room floor. Madonna would make a comeback after that botched single release. But that didn't stop her from releasing some more duds. Without further ado, here are the worst Madonna songs:

"Borderline" may have been Madonna's first top ten hit, but her voice is slowed down to the point where you want to scream. The simple lyrics don't help the song much either. Madonna hates this song so much that she barely sings it on tour.

In 1986, Madonna attempted to have the same success as her 1985 ballad "Crazy for You," but failed with "Live to Tell." She claimed that she wrote the lyrics in five minutes. We believe her!

In 2012, Madonna tried to outdo Lady Gaga with the very Gaga-ish "Girl Gone Wild." The song not only bombed, but it one of the most hated songs by her usually dedicated fan base.

Okay, we realize "Music" was a number one hit. However, the song's lyrics are trite, Madonna's voice in the song is razor-thin, and the video was even worse. Does anybody even play this song anymore?

"Oh Father" was Madonna's very first flop as a single, only making it to number 20 during the last week of 1989. The song, with trite lyrics, off-key singing, and annoying violins, could have ended Madonna's career. However, she was smart to come back with "Keep It Together."
