Back in 2000, The Big Draw was first started in the United Kingdom, with the goal of encouraging people to draw. The arts campaign quickly attracted international interest, and this year, fifteen nations worldwide are participating in the event, which began October 1 and continues through November 3.
Locally, The Big Draw LA has been going strong for the past several weeks. Sponsored by the arts education organization Ryman Arts, a variety of activities have been presented throughout Los Angeles and surrounding communities.
Whether novice or professional, everyone is welcome. Side by side, participants of all ages get the opportunity to express themselves via art. The collective experiences have proven to be fun, uplifting and inspirational.
