The 80s, soft whites and royal blues top Oscars fashion trends.

It's true that styles are subject to change and oftentimes something trends can come back in style. For instance, the dreaded shoulder pad. Who would have thought that this look would ever make a comeback and that men would once again start desiring woman for their square, bulky shoulders? At the 85th Annual Academy Awards last night, presenters like Jane Fonda and Halle Berry walked the red carpet wearing their best 80s get up, shoulder pads and all.

Charlize Theron and best actress Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence rocked the other trend of the night and stole the show in their bright whites. Theron's dress was more structured while Lawrence's dress reminded you of a tiered wedding cake.

Hair was barely there with pixie cuts popping up everywhere, giving many actresses who chose it the edge they needed or the softness essential for pairing it with a pastel dress.

The final trend of the night was royal blue. The deep hue flattered every skin tone from Quvenzhane Wallis to Reese Witherspoon. The final look for each of the royal regals was a sophisticated look that matched the atmosphere of the night.
