When celebrities get into trouble, news travels fast. Their mug shots travel even faster, getting posted online by local police departments to let citizens know about the terrible things they've done. Sometimes, the offenses are minor, but once in a while, we get a really juicy celebrity arrest that makes headlines worth reading.

From the celebrities we expect to see mug shots from (Lindsay Lohan), to former stars whose claim to fame this year was getting busted, we're taking a look at the best celebrity arrests from 2012.

London reportedly mouthed off to police and then defecated in his pants while in the back of the cruiser.London has since taken to Twitter to deny this account of the story. Karen currently stars on the VH1 reality show 'Mob Wives,' and boy has she changed. Fans might barely recognize her in her bad girl days. 
  • The offender: Randy TravisThe crime: DUI without pantsRandy Travis was arrested on August 7, 2012 on DWI charges. The singer was reportedly both drunk and naked when he was stopped for reckless driving.  
  • The offender: SnookiThe crime: Being herselfSnooki was arrested in 2010 for disturbing the peace, and then again in Italy in 2011 for driving into an Italian police car.
  • The offender: Robert Downey Jr.The crime: Being a Hollywood bad boyBetween 1996 and 2001, Robert Downey Jr. was arrested numerous times, usually for drug-related charges.
  • The offender: Charlie SheenThe crime: WinningCharlie Sheen was arrested three different times for charges ranging from drug use to assault on his wife. Maybe he should lay off the tiger's blood.
  • The offender: Jane FondaThe crime: Flying high?Jane Fonda was arrested for drug smuggling charges in 1970. The star was accused of trying to smuggle a number of pills through an airport. The charges were later dropped.
  • The offender: Hugh GrantThe crime: Paying for a good timeWho can forget this embarrassing moment for Hugh Grant? He was arrested in 1995 for lewd conduct with a prostitute. The lady of the evening in question, Divine Brown, went on to make a ton of money over being the woman involved.
  • The offender: Jimi HendrixThe crime: Traveling with drugsJimi Hendrix was arrested in 1969 in Canada for drug possession. Officers found hashish and heroin in his luggage.
  • The offender: Heather LocklearThe crime: Bad drivingHeather Locklear was arrested for DUI charges in 2008, and again in 2010 for a hit and run. She allegedly hit a parking sign at 4AM.
