The News Journal is reporting today that ex-con John Murray has been found guilty for the love triangle murder of Terry Camper, a cab driver who was gunned down in his taxi by John Murray in 2012. Police say John Murray, 62, was having an affair with the with victim's wife, Beverly Camper.

If convicted, John Murray faces life in prison. Beatrice Camper, who testified against him at his trial, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in exchange for a 15-year to life sentence, according to The Journal News.

Authorities say Terry Camper was killed for the insurance money. Beverly Camper and John Murray carried on an affair while Murray was incarcerated for a murder that happened three decades ago. The two lovers conspired to kill Terry Camper after Murray's release from prison.

Beatrice Camper, the victim's wife, has already pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Police say Terry Camper was not a licensed cab driver but made his living running a "jitney" or "gypsy" taxi service. Neighbors say that Terry Camper was a well-respected man in the community. Many were devastated by his passing, according to CBS New York.

The following is a brief timeline of events in the Terry Camper Peekskill murder.

On October 3, 2012, taxi-cab driver, Terry Camper, is dispatched to pick up a person in Peekskill, Ny. When he arrives at he location, he is gunned down in his car.

On October 4, 2012, a man is found dead in his cab by a postal worker. When police arrive on the scene, they find the body of an African American male leaning over the steering wheel.

Police note that the man has a gunshot wound to the head. He is pronounced dead at the scene. The man is later identified as Terry Camper. Police ask for the public's help with any information that could lead to the identity of the killer.

During the investigation, police find a box of prison love letters from John Murray. The letters were addressed to Beatrice Camper. Police also learned that the victim's wife had taken out two life insurance policies on her husband prior to his death.

On October 5, 2012, Beatrice Camper and John Murray are arrested for the murder of Terry Camper. They are charged with second-degree murder. Terry Camper's funeral is held seven days later on October 12.

On April 17, 2014, John Murray is found guilty of second-degree murder in the death of Terry Camper. He will be placed in protective custody.
