An area of high pressure was centered near Binghamton, New York early this morning, and will move south and east of the region through the day today. A warm front will approach the region during the day on Tuesday, passing through the area during the afternoon and evening hours. A brief return to heat and humidity is forecast for the midweek period, along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms each day Tuesday through Thursday. A potent cold front will pass through the region Thursday night, bringing a true autumn airmass into the region to close the work week and head into the coming weekend.
